MEDIUM: Tabletop freestanding Telegraph Key Oddity
DESCRIPTION: Bug Key is part art, part science project. It is a working telegraph device (Morse Code) that includes Vibroplex telegraph key (or ‘Bug Key’), a mechanical relay, and a vacuum tube. When operated, the device makes a characteristic ‘clicking’ sound and the vacuum tube flashes orange with each ‘dit and dat’. Morse’s alphabet is included on the device as reference.
The device is attached to a wood pedestal inside and displayed inside mirrored back display case. The dimensions are 15” width x 10” height x 8” depth. It is powered by a AC/DC adapter wall plug-in.
